A rather interesting thing I have come across in my research is the Argentine government's interactive map of Buenos Aires.

The one thing this has over google maps, is an ability to take a look at Buenos Aires in different times (click where it says mapa temática). The '60s and '70s are there, as well as 2004 and 2009.
